Biggest record release in history private function are releasing 50 urine-filled copies of their new record. 370HSSV0773Hwill be released on their label Still On Top Records this Friday, March 31st.
In an Instagram announcement, the Melbourne band revealed that the process behind the idea was tricky (and tedious).
“Congratulations to the 50 people who ordered the ‘Gold’ version of our new record…you just bought a liquid disc full of our piss,” Private Function wrote on social media last night.
The band continues:
“I don’t have a physical copy yet because it took a nasty amount of experimentation to get this record working, but I do have a video outlining its creation.”

The punk rocker then urged fans not to use the band members’ DNA to commit crimes.
Some commenters expressed concern about the amount of urine the band members produced and told private functions to drink more water.

The idea for Scratchie came from Private Function’s desire to give back to their fans. “We were thinking about how we could give back to our fans in a fun way and came up with a really simple idea that we couldn’t believe had never been done before,” the band said.
“Finding a company that actually prints scratchable panels onto record sleeves wasn’t easy, but they must have found a way to make it happen.”
However, after their story made headlines in the media, the South Australian Liquor and Gambling Commission Dini Sulio gave the band a full exemption to release an album with Scratch.
“When I realized that, I was happy to reach out to the band. Depending on the circumstances, I would be happy to grant a waiver so that we could sell it to South Australia,” Sourio commented. ABC Radio Adelaide.
“The idea of someone buying multiple albums and getting into Scratch is probably not risky from my perspective.”
