The Denver Broncos held a formal interview with Pittsburgh offensive tackle Carter Warren at the NFL Combine earlier this offseason. Ryan Fowler of The Draft NetworkNFL teams are allowed up to 45 official visits to players at the Combine each year.
Warren (6-5, 311 lbs.) started four games at left tackle for the Panthers last season before suffering a season-ending torn meniscus. Warren has since recovered from that injury and in February he participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Warren has started 39 of Pitt’s 40 games and is expected to be a late-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft. The Broncos currently hold pick number 139 in Round 5 and pick number 195 in Round 6 (see full pick order here).
If selected by Denver, Warren will likely serve as a backup swing tackle behind starters Garrett Balls and Mike McGrinchee.
The 2023 NFL Draft takes place April 27-29 in Kansas City.
