Girls Aloud will be releasing some music from their vaults to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Sound of the Underground.
Kimberly Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and the late Sarah Harding first album was originally released in May 2003. It spawned the hits “No Good Advice,” “Life Got Cold,” and the title track for her.
The group is now celebrating its 20th anniversary with several “enjoyable alternative songs” and vocal cuts that were not on the original release.

Speaking to MailOnline, Kimberly teased: “There are some fun alternate versions of the song lying around, and a little re-release to show for it.
“Twenty years is a long time and our love for Sound of the Underground and some songs from the first album is still huge, so it still feels like something to celebrate. But it’s kind of an understated way, I guess.”
However, despite plans to release these unreleased songs, there are no plans for the group to regroup to record new music or play live shows after Sarah Harding’s death in September 2021. Not yet, Kimberly repeated.

Girls Aloud enjoyed throughout their career 21 official top 10 singles, 20 of them in a row. The group also claimed four UK number one singles. Sound of the Underground (2002), I’ll Stand By You (2004), Walk This Way (2007) and the Brit Award-winning The Promise (2008).
Girls Aloud also scored two UK number one albums. The Sound Of Girls Aloud – The Greatest Hits (2006) and Out Of Control (2008).
