NCT member Taeyeon announced her solo debut and announced it with a new trailer.
The idol posted a trailer video on NCT’s official YouTube channel, where he revealed that the name of his upcoming solo debut mini-album is ‘SHALALA’. Scheduled to be released on June 5th at 6pm (KST), the new project will be Taeyeon’s first official solo release.
The clip shows the NCT rapper-singer playing keyboards, gleefully writing lyrics to the music, and revealing the name of the record. Details such as the tracklist for “SHALALA” will be announced within the next few weeks.
Taeyeon will be the first NCT member to make her solo debut with ‘SHALALA’. The rapper has previously released solo songs with other members of his boy band, but this will be the first official individual release by a member of the group.
Prior to this, NCT’s leader has released solo songs through his Soundcloud account and his own label SM Entertainment’s SM Station project. His latest solo track is “Fine,” which he posted to Soundcloud last November.
As part of the SM station project, in April 2022, he also released a single “Love Theory” co-produced with rapper Wonstein.
“I actually reached out to Wonstein first to tell him how I wanted to make the song, and then we spent about a week sorting things out and gathering our wisdom to make the song. I focused on,” Taeyeon said. NME Post-launch interview.
