Myke Towers have just released their fourth album, La Vida Es Una, and we see the Latin superstar experimenting with different genres from around the world.
Having already collaborated with the likes of Daddy Yankee, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez, Mike will release a rap-oriented album in 2021. Like Mike was released around the same time that Selena made a guest appearance on her first Latin EP, Her Revelación. Taking a short break from releasing, we’re back this year with a renewed sense of self and belief in ourselves.
“I felt burnt out,” Mike told us, “so many songs [being released at the same time]. know [my fans] Gratitude [what they were hearing], but they also needed my music. I had to get out of my comfort zone. “
In our latest chat, Myke dives into the world of La Vida Es Una and discusses how collaborating with the world’s biggest artists is currently influencing his own career.

Hello Mike! You mentioned that this new album is like a graduation, did you feel that you’ve learned and experienced enough from the previous albums to take you to the next level?
absolutely. I have accumulated a lot of time and experience. I have been working on this for 10 years. Starting in Caserios, Puerto Rico, I’ve been uploading my music to SoundCloud. After his two different sounding albums, Easy Money Baby and Lyke Mike, I wanted to make this album with playing live in mind. I needed to get out of my comfort zone and try new sounds. At these song shows, we want our fans to feel the vibes, dance, have fun and sing along.world
Your recent album leaned heavily towards rap, but this one is sonically really open, incorporating different genres from different countries around the world. for you in the past?
not much! I enjoy making music by changing and changing things and exploring new sounds. I wanted to take risks with this new album. Reggae for Flow Jamaican, Dancehall for Más Allá and even Rock for Extra Extra! I listened to The Last Don from . I took inspiration from it and adapted some of it to my style without losing my essence.
You say this new album all came after a hiatus, why was the hiatus necessary and what happened to get you back on track?
There were a lot of songs that I was drawn to, including collaborations with other artists, remixes, and guest appearances on other albums. Fans already appreciated what was on the streets, but now I felt like they needed my music. I felt it was time to come back with my music!
Bad Bunny, Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and any other collaborations you’ve been a part of have been insane. What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned from collaborating with top artists?
Their work ethic – they never stop and are ready to take challenges and risks. They could be the biggest artists, but the real difference is how hard they work, collaborate, and are willing to work together. This is what I tried to emulate on the new album. For example, there is a song by up-and-coming Argentinian female singer Chita. I used to be in their shoes, so I love giving opportunities to the next generation.
I really liked your work with Serena. ready itbeing part of Revelación, felt like a project she needed to do at that point in her career.
Whenever she is ready! I’m a huge Selena fan and I have so much respect for her that I’ll be there whenever she’s ready.I loved working with her and doing her job.
You first emerged via SoundCloud, but now the industry has shifted to apps like TikTok where most of the new talent will be found. What are your thoughts on media dominance? It sounds like you should prepare for a viral moment before dropping a single now.
I see new social media platforms as tools for artists to make music. Today it might be Tik Tok, but tomorrow it might be something else. Fans want content, so you have to give them what they want!
