Phil Elverum has announced 12 tour dates for 2023 for his Mount Eerie project. He shared the news in a Substack post, noting that the newly scheduled show has “[t]A number of new songs from the album in progress. He also added that Mount Eerie will tour as a duo this time around, but it’s still unclear who the other half of the group will be.
The show opens with Karl Brau and Country Gravell, Emily Sprague and Goodtime John each playing one gig, Elverum’s May 9 at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. The day’s shows included an “evening of song and conversation”, with Song Exploder’s Hrishikesh Hirway. NEXT DATE – On May 28, l’Ancienne Belgique, Belgium, Brussels will host a series of discussions and film screenings to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Harry Everett Smith. The show will be held at the same place the following night.)
On New Year’s Eve 2022, Elverum contributed the rare Mount Eerie Lucy title ‘Huge Fire’ to the Tokyo label 7 ep’s year-end compilation record. colourThe track was named Song You Need.
