(CNN) — Three men arrested in connection with a triple murder in Los Angeles earlier this year are awaiting extradition from three states to California, city officials said Friday.
Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Jonathan Tippett said at a press conference that the three women killed in the wealthy Beverly Crest neighborhood of Beverly Hills on January 28 “were not the intended targets.” rice field.

A cross-border investigation led authorities to three suspects. Authorities arrested DeJean Tompkins, 28, in Chicago. Donte Williams, 22, lives in Gary, Indiana. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Darry Stanford, 28, lives in New York.
They face three counts of murder, six counts of attempted murder and assault with a semi-automatic gun, respectively.

Tompkins is also facing additional murder charges stemming from a December murder in North Hollywood, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
