Lori Varrow Trial: ‘Cult Mom’ Convicted of Killing Child and Chad Daybell’s Wife
“Doomsday Cult Mom” Lori Varrow was found guilty of first-degree murder of two children and conspiracy to murder the late wife of husband Chad Daybell.
Closing arguments concluded in the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho, with a jury of seven men and five women beginning deliberations on Thursday afternoon. The jury reached a verdict about seven hours later, around 11:45 a.m. Friday.
The long-awaited ruling was broadcast live, and Valor seemed unfeeling, even though the judge had banned the use of cameras in court.
Valor, 49, has filed first-degree murder charges over the deaths of his daughter Tyree Ryan, 16, sons Joshua “JJ” Valor, 7, and Tammy Dabell, 49. He was convicted of conspiracy and grand theft.
Tyree and JJ were last seen in September 2019, and their bodies were found buried on Dabell’s property in June 2020. Tammy died in October 2019, one month after her disappearance.
For six weeks, prosecutors allege Valor conspired with Davell and his brother Alex Cox to kill three of his victims, motivated by greed and apocalyptic cult beliefs.
Following the verdict, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that it has requested that Valor be extradited to Arizona, who is charged with conspiring to commit first-degree murder in the death of her ex-husband, Charles Valor.
Lori Varrow attacked ‘crazy’ Chad Daybell as a last resort to avoid murder conviction
At the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho, on Thursday, Valor’s attorney, Jim Archibald, asked that Valor be portrayed as a hard-working “good mother” whose life suddenly changed when she met Daybell.
“A year after meeting Chad, four people died,” Archibald said.

Child murderer Lori Varrow, who was convicted in Idaho for murdering her two youngest children, is expected to be sentenced and extradited to Arizona.
