Hal BaileyConfusingly close in name to Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry will play Ariel in the upcoming live-action remake. little mermaidThat’s not the only thing she does. She also has several singing parts in the film, and Bailey recently reacted to the release of her version of the classic “Part of Your World” song.
The song is the first released track from the upcoming soundtrack to the film, which will be released on May 19th. The actress shared the song “I played” with a graphic featuring the character actress underwater staring at the surface.
The song was written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, who were responsible for the music and lyrics respectively. Now available on Spotify as well as Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube Music, it comes with a visualizer.
Disney has also released a number of new character posters for the film, including a closer look at Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) and her questionable makeup.
Bailey used to entertainment tonight People will be very surprised by McCarthy’s take on the character.
“People would be very surprised [by] her job [playing] Ursula,” she said. “First of all, she’s a beautiful human being, she’s so talented, and the way she consumes Ursula is so beautiful. I’m so proud of her and can’t wait for people to see it. I can’t.”
She also shared that McCarthy not only played Ursula as the Evil Queen, but added some other layer to the character.
“She has this kind of maternal trickyness when it comes to tricking Ariel in the movie, so I had to get sucked into her world and fall under her spell. “It wasn’t mean, it wasn’t mean. It was like [Ariel] in search of motherhood. “
