It’s the 16th anniversary of a retail holiday that honors 1,400 independent record stores across the United States, usually held on the third Saturday in April. Days and artists often have in-store performances and appearances.
Musicians Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell, co-ambassadors of Record Store Day, will each perform at the store on Saturday.
“You know, we spent a lot of time making friends[at record stores],” Isbell said recently on the Record Store Day podcast. “We did a lot of shows to promote our work and get closer to our fans. And for both of us, being Record Store Day ambassadors is very special…”

Taylor and her collaborators recorded a Grammy-winning release during the COVID-19 lockdown, but in September 2020, Long Pond Studio Sessions will feature Taylor Swift, Aaron Dessner (The National) and Jack Antonoff. (Bleachers) live recording and Disney+ documentary.
