Lily Allen reveals she hates her old songs

Lily Allen has revealed that she hates her old songs and has banned them from playing at home.

“I don’t actually like it that much,” the 37-year-old singer said during an appearance on Saturday’s Jonathan Ross Show, but he didn’t care when he wrote the song.

Lily, who lives with husband David Harbour, 10-year-old Marnie, and 11-year-old Ethel, remained shy during the interview about whether she’ll be writing music again or releasing new songs.

When asked by host Jonathan if she would be playing her own music at home, she replied: Not allowed.

‘Absolutely not. I don’t like it very much. I liked it when I wrote it.

When asked if she plans to make new music again, Lily said she has resumed recording after Glastonbury last year.

Lilly, who shot to fame in the 2000s with her hit single “Smile,” explains: It’s a lot of fun, I’m very good at it. We booked 5 weeks at the studio just before Christmas last year.

And it was terrible. Nothing really happened and everything just felt really unnatural. It wasn’t very good. So I’m not going to put it out. Maybe someday we will see.

Elsewhere in the chat, she reflected on last summer’s performance at Glastonbury with superstar Olivia Rodrigo.

Lily explained that to her children’s surprise, “I was really nervous. I haven’t done it in a long time, I haven’t done it calmly.”

“I’m not really sure what I was expecting. It was really amazing. People went absolutely ballistic. I was really overwhelmed. My kids were like, ‘What’s going on?’ was. Olivia is their idol.

“At one point people were yelling at me louder than her. Told. She was like, “What on the charts?”And I was like “yes…”

Lily also talked about how she met her husband, Stranger Things star David, on a chat show.

Sh said, “We met on a dating app called Raya. It was my first time on a dating app. I didn’t know there was.

“I thought he looked like a sexy cop on a reality show. He was in a cop uniform. It was a still from Stranger Things. I hadn’t seen Stranger Things.”

“I don’t even know what I was looking for. Just swiping on the holidays was kind of fun. When I met him, I thought it was going nowhere. He’s here.” We were filming Black Widow, he didn’t mean to stay here for just a few months, and it did [go somewhere].’

She added of their fascination: He sat under his watch.

“It was a bit like that moment in Titanic when he [Jack] Spin under the clock. It was a little like that for me.

She looked great at the show in a black lace jumpsuit while chatting.

The show also starred Ed Sheeran, Russell Crowe, Michael Bublé and Desiree Burch.

Lily recently promoted her new Sky comedy-drama series, Dreamland.

The star is stepping into the world of acting, making her TV debut in the new comedy series alongside co-star and Doctor Who alum Freema Agyeman.

Lily appeared on This Morning Wednesday to talk about her new show.

“It’s my way of acting and it feels authentic to the female cast.

“Coming from live music, men are heavy.

She also talked about four years of sobriety while appearing on the ITV show.

The singer has been candid about her addiction struggles, previously revealing that the last time she consumed alcohol was July 28, 2019.

Lily told presenters Holly Willoughby and Joel Dermott, “It’s weird. My life has changed so much.

“I have been clean and sober for four years. I have a new husband and am sorting out my life in America.”

Lilly has always been open about her drinking and substance abuse, especially when she released her memoir My Thoughts Exactly in 2020.

In 2018, she was accused of glamorizing drug use after admitting to smoking a line of ketamine at the 2008 Glamor Woman of the Year Awards.

Describing what happened, Allen said: I was kicked out of the Glamor Awards for being in a hole (walking past some railings).

She added: “Obviously I couldn’t speak or tell the driver, so the assistant told the occupant in the car behind me to ‘follow that cab’. I think it was @chattyman on board, I don’t know what happened next.”
