Laufey’s creative expression explores themes of youthful love and self-discovery drawn from her experiences growing up in Reykjavík, Washington DC, and Beijing. Her love of jazz was ignited when she first heard an Ella Fitzgerald record made by her father. Laufey’s musical journey began at an early age when she began playing the cello and piano.
