After the release of the music video, Astroturf, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard released a new album “PetroDragonic Apocalypse”. Or the Dawn of the Eternal Night: The annihilation of planet Earth and the beginning of a merciless damnation. This album is the sequel to the 2019 collection titled Infest the Rats’ Next. The new album will be released on June 16th via the band’s label KGLW. Check out the video for lead single “Gila Monster” below.
“Gila Monster” features lyrics sung by Stu Mackenzie and Ambrose Kenny Smith. Occasionally, the entire band sings repeatedly shouting “Hila, Hila, Hila” to represent a monster that destroys everything in its path. There is a guitar solo near the end. The monsters they describe are unstoppable beasts. Compared to that, it is so invincible that it is said that “Pulsar is a light flame”. Here the American mouse says that it is brighter (more powerful) than an incredibly powerful star.
Stu Mackenzie comments on the Petrodragonic Apocalypse:
“It felt experimental when we made ‘Rats’ Nest.’ Like, this is this music that some of us haven’t really had the courage or the confidence to play before. Let’s give it a try, let’s see what happens. When we made that album, I was like, ‘Damn, why did it take so long to make this? That music is a lot of fun to play and it works really well when played live. So we always had in mind making another metal record. “
The PetroDragonic Apocalypse songs are:
01 Motor Spirit
02 Supercell
03 Converge
04 magic
05 crazy monsters
06 Dragon
07 flamethrower
