(CNN) Police have now recovered 89 bodies from a mass grave in the forests of eastern Kenya, according to the Kenyan government.
Kenya’s Interior Minister Kiture Kindiki said three people were found alive and rescued on Tuesday.
In all, 34 people have been rescued since the grave was discovered in the 800 Acre Woods last Friday.
They are said to be members of the Good News International Church.

Cult leader Paul Mackenzie Nsege was arrested after police received information that there was a mass grave on his large plot of land in Shakahora Forest in Kilifi County, eastern Kenya.
Nthege was seen shouting “Praise Jesus” while being escorted by police after his arrest. His attorney told CNN on Tuesday that he was denied bail for fear of obstructing the investigation.
“The court is of the opinion that he may interfere with the investigation,” Nsege’s attorney, George Kariuki, told CNN.
Kariuki said prosecutors had been given 14 days to investigate the case, adding that Nthege had not been charged. He added that he did not have permission from his client to comment on the allegations that he encouraged his followers to starve to death in order to get to heaven.
“I cannot disclose what my client is telling me without his express permission..I don’t know if anyone died while fasting..provided.”
There are concerns that the number may increase as the Kenyan Red Cross Said More than 200 people were reported missing in the coastal town of Malindi.
