Pennsylvania Offensive Lineman Juice Scruggs A versatile talent who can handle both guard and center. NFL teams value positional reliability and versatility, and Scruggs has both. These strengths are NFL scout combine.
Scruggs recently spoke exclusively with Draft Network about his experience with the Combine, the versatility of the position, the teams that expressed interest in his services during the pre-draft process, and more.
JM: How was your experience at the NFL Scouting Combine this year? I thought you looked smooth.
Juice Scruggs: It was definitely an amazing experience, a unique experience. He was honored to receive an invitation to join NFL Scouting Her Combine in 2023. I don’t know how many years I’ve been watching it on TV. It’s been a while (laughs). It was really nice to be able to participate in the event.
I think the performance at the combine was pretty good. I also thought that some things could have been done better. I will always be my biggest critic. Overall, I was happy with my performance.
JM: Did you have a formal interview?
Juice Scruggs: Yes, I had formal interviews with the San Francisco 49ers and the Miami Dolphins.
JM: Any other conferences? Top 30 visits, virtual conferences and things of that nature.
Juice Scruggs: I’m currently coordinating a private visitation schedule. I recently had a virtual meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns. I’ve also met with the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Chargers.
JM: There’s a lot of interest in you and it’s easy to see why. You are his two-year starter with experience as both a guard and center. NFL teams love diversity. How comfortable are you playing multiple positions?
Juice Scruggs: My experience at Penn State has made me a very versatile player. At Penn State, he played multiple positions. I am definitely a guy who is willing to do whatever it takes for his team to win.
Can be center or guard. If I have to learn how to do a tackle position, I will. My goal is to win football games. If playing multiple positions helps me achieve that goal, I am happy to do so.
JM: Where do you see yourself playing primarily at the next level? Did the team give you feedback like they see you as a guard or a center?
Juice Scruggs: No, there is no consensus. I don’t have a specific team that says they’ve seen me play anywhere. Every team asked me about position diversity. They see me as a guy who can do all three internal positions. The team has asked me how I feel about playing all the internal positions. I told them the exact same thing I am telling you in this interview. is.
I personally love play centers. I’m in charge of the offense and love deciding things like protection settings. I take pride in my teammates continuing on the same path. I will definitely guard as well. That’s the honest truth.
JM: We love your game. What is your favorite thing about playing with interiors?
Juice Scruggs: I love playing the grind in the trenches. It’s trench work. There’s a reason they’re called trenches (laughs). It’s not for everyone. Even if you ask for a lot of offensive tackles, they will admit that they never want to play inside. Everything is tougher and more condensed.
Just not. You have to be smart and physical. You have to be fast too. You need to be able to react quickly to movements around you. It’s a grind. When I got to Penn State, I only played tackle in high school, so I had to adapt. After adjusting, it’s running fine.
JM: Thank you very much for today. Why should the team use Juice Scruggs draft pick he one?
Juice Scruggs: I’m a worker first and foremost. I’ve been thinking the same way my whole life. I will work for what I want to do in life. I wasn’t a guy who could just show up and rely on my God-given talent. i am a hard worker it’s my nature. I study hard. Go forward with all your might.
I will do everything in my power to help my team win the Super Bowl.
