(CNN) Jordan has warned of “devastating consequences” if Israeli forces attack the Al-Aqsa mosque again.
The Israeli police said, “They are attacking worshipers again and trying to empty them. The Waqf is a Jordanian-appointed organization that manages the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, known by Jews as the Temple Mount.
Israeli police raided Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque twice last Wednesday, claiming that “hundreds of rioters and mosque desecrators have barricaded themselves inside.”
On Saturday night, Israeli police again said, “Many young people [had] I entered the mosque for no reason and closed the door.”
The Israeli police raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque is seen by Muslims as a major act of provocation.
