It seems completely silly for a band to call itself JOHN — just JOHN, not any other name — but that’s what London post-punker JOHN has done. I understand the reasoning. Both members of John – drummer/lead his singer John Newton and guitarist/backup his singer Johnny Healy – are named John. If you don’t mind someone being able to Google your band, I guess that’s enough.
