Jodie Turner Smith in Murder Mystery 2
Screen Rant: Jody, I love this movie. I love the countess.
Jodie Turner-Smith: Yes, the Countess, C–tress, you can call either.
she murder mystery franchise. Can you tell us a little bit about her role in the movie?
Jodie Turner-Smith: The Countess is a deeply misunderstood figure. Because a lot of people describe her as a villain for some reason. she’s not a villain. She talks about the world she sees and the people she sees. If something makes her uncomfortable, she says so. And she loves money.
I love the comedic yet hostile tone of The Countess. Can you talk about finding that balance, especially working with comedic geniuses like Adam and Jennifer?
Jodie Turner-Smith: I don’t know how they actually did it. Working with Adam and Jen has definitely been a great experience. Because what you two are doing is so incredibly charming and hilarious that it’s kind of hard to keep it together. But with a piece like this, it’s really all about the ensemble. It’s really about figuring out where you fit in and playing that note.
I work with my acting coach, Lee Kilton Smith, all the time. And like I said, in the Countess’ account, she lives her deepest truth. Everything she says is her truth in that moment.
That’s great. What was the most surprising thing about playing the Countess, and what did you want to bring to her role that wasn’t necessarily on the page?
Jodie Turner-Smith: She’s much simpler than you think. She has no diabolical plans. In fact her playing was very simple and she was a very interesting note to play.
You guys were filmed in one of my favorite cities in the world, Paris. Tell us about what the city’s energy brings to the film.
Jodie Turner-Smith: Paris is very romantic. I know some people don’t like Paris, but they’re probably dead at heart. There’s something evocative, romantic and gorgeous about this city that just makes you feel ‘oh’. It feels like every movie about Paris I’ve ever seen. It’s like being in a movie just by walking.
i am huge Star Wars Fans, and I know you’ll join Acolyte, and I know it will happen at the end of the High Republic.what can you tell me about Acolyte And what character do you play?
Jodie Turner-Smith: What Leslye Headland has done within this IP is unlike anything Star Wars has ever done. And I got to play a really amazing and powerful character that I’m really proud of in these two episodes of her, under the guidance of her one of my favorite directors, Kogonada. I was. you will see something really great.
Amandla Stenberg is a great performer and I had the pleasure of working with JJ and Carrie-Anne Moss.Dean [Charles Champman] It was the Lannister who jumped out the window. [Laughs]
