MAFS star Jesse Burford opened up about his experiences on the show and his disastrous marriage to Claire Nommerhas in the most unfiltered interview yet.
The 30-year-old Perth marriage priest, who broke his deal with Channel Nine for an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, has made a series of shocking revelations. This includes the shocking slurs his wife used against him on his honeymoon.
He also shared for the first time that he felt so bad that fellow groom Adam Groom kissed Claire behind her back and bought him an “apology gift” to make up for it.
Jessie admitted she was “shocked” to see how her tumultuous relationship with Claire played out on screen.
He also said he “can’t believe for a second” that Claire liked or respected him, even though she hinted at him in an interview on camera.
But perhaps the most overwhelming part of the whole experience was seeing himself portrayed as a “villain”, at least at the beginning of the season.
“It was so strange to see [and] After all the shooting experience, [MAFS viewers] It says about me and how it doesn’t match,” he said.
In particular, Jessie was disappointed that two key moments from her honeymoon were left on the cutting room floor.
“Two things happened [left out] It really upset me.
Claire commented on her age request during casting. She wanted someone older, and I wanted someone younger.
“She commented on me [I wanted someone] I was incredibly offended so take what you want from there.
Jessie also revealed that she accused Claire of being on the autism spectrum after bickering over minor issues such as her interest in astrology.
“While insulting me, [Claire] It makes fun of the minorities that exist, the underprivileged, and has family friends who suffer from it.
“It really upset me.”
Jesse is disappointed that it wasn’t shown on television. Because she showed another side of Claire’s personality that was buried in post-production.
He was also taken aback by Claire’s confrontational attitude, saying, “Just because I call it what it is doesn’t mean I hate you. This must be a fight.” It doesn’t mean you have to.
Adam Seed makes amends
Elsewhere in the interview, Jessie revealed how she tried to make amends after fellow groom Adam Seed kissed Claire in the back.
“Adam bought me an apology gift,” he revealed.
“He bought me tickets to a heavy metal show in Perth. I would like you to know that I am, but I cannot participate in the show.
“If there had been another conversation between me and him, it would have been him saying sorry. Ever since the MAFS shoot, every time we touched the base, he always said sorry-what?” Again and again and again..
What Jesse Hoped to Find on MAFS
When asked what he was looking for in a MAFS partner, Jesse made it very clear that he wanted someone who could have a “two-way conversation.”
“I’m looking for someone who listens as much as they talk,” he explained, referring quietly to Claire’s big mouth.
“I want someone who can look up to me, look up to me, be around me and show me off.”
“I had an ex-girlfriend keep me a secret for two years. I have loads to show, man. I think I’m a pretty funny person.
Jessie was supposed to attend the reunion with Janelle.
Jesse also revealed that he had planned to step into the MAFS reunion as a “couple” with his friend and co-star Janelle Hann.
Janelle “married” Adam, who kissed Claire, and she and Jesse bonded over their shared experience of being cheated on.
“Janelle and I were trying to get in together with a prank to catch everyone.
“How funny [would it be] “Adam and Claire cheated on us and then me and Janelle walked in together — but the production didn’t want that,” he added.
“We thought it was a mind-boggling idea… [but] They said, “No, no.” Canceled.
