Ahead of the release of his long-awaited sophomore album Tears You Hide (out June 9), Americana up-and-coming artist Jeremy Albino has announced a US headline tour for the fall. The streak of itineraries kicks off in Boston on his October 10th, with stops in New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Philadelphia, Nashville, Atlanta, and more (see full route below). The artist has had support in the production of his early work from his original backing band, the Rose Hall Band, and a team called Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes), who co-produced his critically acclaimed debut full-length. I received The importance of working with a supportive and supportive community is something he knows the value of not only in his music, but also from his days working as a farmer in Prince Edward County.
Earlier this month, Jermie unveiled a captivating live performance video for “You I’m Waiting On,” shot and directed by longtime creative partner and collaborator Mark Klassen. This video takes viewers back in time to Toronto’s historic Owls Club. The old Legion Hall, frozen in time, serves as the ultimate backdrop, perfectly pairing Jeremy’s soulful, golden sounds with the memories painted on the walls.
Jeremy Albino’s grainy ballads are varied with a joyful tenor that finds him a unique space in the world of Americana, folk, blues and country. Reimagining the image of the lonely wanderer, his music is rooted in the moment when everyone in the room experiences the same moment in different ways, embodying loneliness and connection at the same time.
Starting playing late-night gigs, the up-and-coming artist has blossomed into a touring career. Attracting attention from both the community and the press, he is described as “a true revival of the most authentic blues, brought to life through the eyes of a modern, young, but old-soul artist” (American Songwriter), and ” hailed as the next line. An emotional band leader who projects soul and directness over an evocative sound.” (Glide Magazine).
On their critically acclaimed debut album Hard Time (2019), Albino supported JD McPherson and St. Paul and the Broken Bones on their first US tour. In 2020, he accompanied Shovels & Rope on their UK and European tour, before collaborating with Michael Trent, who produced Albino’s EP Past Dawn (2022). He has also performed with modern country pioneers Orville Peck and Cat Clyde.
His nomadic lifestyle suits him so well that it echoes on stage… His captivating spirit, strumming freely with gushing choruses, has earned him one of the best performers at Billboard’s Americana Fest. But he is just getting started.
