screen rant sat down with Mead and Ely ahead of the premiere of dead ringer We discuss the show, including filming that Episode 2 sequence and what to do if you had identical twins.
Dead Ringer’s Jennifer Ealy and Emily Mead
Screen rant: What would you do first if you had identical twins?
Jennifer Ehle: I never thought I’d want identical twins until you said [that].
Emily Meade: I grew up with what I love Full house And the Olsen twins.so i feel like twins [were] The 90’s were really exciting. So the first thing we do is be born. It reminds me of my childhood and my friend. We weren’t twins and we weren’t related. And we weren’t really alike. But we want to tell people that we were twins. And then we switch. There was a little outfit with matching tank tops and shorts. We swapped shirts and shorts and said we were twins. However, they were born an hour apart, so they looked different. That’s why we actually did a lot of it. I am an actual twin and could have worked in a better way with something like that.
Jennifer Ehle: Yeah, that’s interesting. don’t know.
An interesting philosophical question.
Jennifer Ehle: I think it’s great.what i think [it] It would be great if twins could have that kind of relationship from the beginning. That intimacy, and having that intimacy, has to be absolutely extraordinary.
Emily Meade: Yeah. I thought there would be competition. That’s what I’ve always thought. Maybe I’m a really competitive person. But think about it… If you like guys, you’re right, will they like my twin more? That’s the first place my heart goes. maybe say more about me…
Jennifer, Cronenberg’s dead ringer Before signing on to the project?
Jennifer Ehle: I saw it when it first came out when I was 18 and haven’t seen it since. I liked it For me, this was all about Alice Burch and Rachel Weisz, and the idea of working with any of these people was extraordinary. and work with them. The fact that they were reimagining such an extraordinary film was even more fun.
Emily, Episode 2 is one of my favorites. You both stand out among them, but the Mantle sisters are courting you, Rebecca, and the board. So what was it like to get the whole cast together and have a little bit of this chaotic environment? What was it like shooting those scenes?
Emily Meade: It was really fun and interesting. Without a doubt, it was probably the most fun scene. And there was a lot of downtime in the scene, where you could sit and observe, do weird things with the food in the background, and watch. Some were there just for that scene, but each one was so good.
It has very beautiful choreography, and we did it for three days, so it was more fun and nuanced. So it’s like watching an interactive play up close. It was just as fun to watch in person as it was on screen.
Jennifer Ehle: It was a lot of fun.
