Niki J. Borger is an award-winning actress, screenwriter and producer who grew up in rural Germany and is fluent in English, French, Spanish and German. She moved to the United States in September 2018 to pursue her passion for her Hollywood career in the entertainment industry.
“As cosmopolitans, we believe that we live in one world and that all living things have their own purpose within it. I want to show people that more is possible than they think. For everyone.” –Niki J. Boger
She is the co-founder of FireWolf Entertainment, a production company based in Oklahoma and Burbank, California. FireWolf Entertainment specializes in telling compelling stories in the fantasy and action genres, similar to Game of Thrones and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The company has produced characters and story her arcs that are far more authentic and relatable than most other films in the genre, delving deep into the psychology, mindsets, beliefs, and driving factors of the characters to make them human. Do (or don’t). The stories they tackle in his FireWolf Entertainment may get tough and dark along the way, but they lead to uplifting and exciting results.
What made you decide to start a production company?
My business partner and fellow actor Matt Coulson and I started working in Hollywood around the same time. We were quickly disappointed with the roles we had access to. They felt very stereotypical and flat, nothing real or new.
The roles that intrigued us to come to Hollywood in the first place only went straight to the big casting agencies. It was frustrating!
Then the pandemic hit and we suddenly had more time on our hands. So we decided to develop stories and characters that we wanted to see and play on screen.
I love stories that are fun to watch, not superficial. I love seeing real characters undergo deep transformations instead of recreating stereotypes. Stories not traditionally seen in Hollywood storytelling He arcs and loves seeing diverse characters. And we love to see the range of stories diversified, so everyone can see movies and shows that resonate.
What projects is your production company currently working on?
FireWolf Entertainment is currently working on several projects in the fantasy and superhero genres, as well as sitcoms.
The sitcom “The Marriage Deal” is about a womanizing bartender and a shrewd accountant who have to get married. This story is derived from the main piece of advice given to me when I decided I wanted to make a career here in Hollywood. it is to get married. For me it was never an option. Either you do things according to the rulebook or you don’t do them at all. But it’s a fun setting for a sitcom, so we developed it.
Every fantasy series we’ve created is part of the Ascension franchise, a cinematic universe based on the assumption that all myths are real and interconnected. “The Last Asgardian,” set in Iron Age Scandinavia; “Turn of Tides,” the story of two African-American sailors turned pirates set in America in 1798; set in bronze. The three series of “Queen of the Amazons” are fully unfolded. Age Türkiye. more coming!
Do you have a favorite movie genre? If so, what is it and why?
I love good comedy! It’s great fun and a great way to balance your daily grind. I am also a huge fan of fantasy and superhero movies. I love imagining myself living in these worlds and doing things that as a human being I can’t actually do. There is something that empowers and uplifts.
What would you say is the biggest challenge you have to overcome when acting, directing, or writing your own film?
It’s very easy for me to combine acting and writing characters. First, because these two things occur at different stages of the production process. By creating the character myself, I have a better understanding of what’s really going on with her, what drives her, and why she behaves the way she does.
It’s very difficult to combine acting and directing, and I don’t particularly like it. The perspectives between the two couldn’t be more different. Actors must be present in the moment and fully involved in the imaginary reality of the story. When you act, you have to put everything else out of your mind. The opposite is true for directors. A director has to pull all the strings together to make sure the big picture works as well as possible. That’s why I try to avoid acting and directing at the same time. Doing both definitely makes my acting worse. But sometimes it’s the best way to produce.
If you could choose your own superpower, what would it be and why?
I want to be able to fly. I think it’s a lot of fun.
Was there a moment that changed the entire trajectory of your life?
There were many defining moments in my life when I was in Hollywood and pursued acting. , a lot had to happen to be here.
One of the defining moments was college. I studied Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz, Germany. It’s considered an Ivy League program, but I only attended it to make my family proud and to fulfill my obligation to complete a college degree. I had to stop almost all my artistic activities to keep up with the workload. Eventually my back became infected and it turned out to be a herniated disc. I could no longer stand, walk or sit without severe pain. The doctor said it was so bad that I would never be able to dance again. Never Dance Again – Not an Option! I thought my first goal should be happiness. That’s when I decided to pursue an artist career as soon as I got my master’s degree. As my thoughts and feelings evolved, my body began to heal. Today, I look at my health as an indicator that I am on the right track.
what drives you?
Rejoice, above all. i like to be happy! I also like to inspire and empower others. So I try to lead by example. Most people I know are capable of more than they are capable of. I want to help them believe they can be who they want to be. But to do that, we have to do it first.
If you knew everything you know right now, what advice would you give baby Niki?
Don’t leave the keys to your happiness in someone else’s pocket.
