Samantha’s Shakuntharam is ready to hit theaters this Friday.Directed by Gunasekhar, the film features an ensemble of Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Gautami. The cast plays an important role. Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha is considered a prince of Bharata. Produced by Neelima Guna, daughter of Gunasekar. Samantha said the film is relevant to modern people. Could you elaborate on this?
Shaakuntala’s personality represents her values and self-esteem. Shaakuntala does what was considered criminal in society at the time. Looking at modern women, they are very strong and that’s how Shaakuntala’s personality relates to modern scenarios.
What was your biggest fear while filming Shakuntalam?
The animal part is the most challenging aspect of the entire movie. You have to spend a lot of time on CGI and it takes a lot of time to get the output. I used to make movies with animals, but now I can’t.
In an era when audience tastes have changed and prefer action movies, do you think they will prefer stories like Shakuntalam?
Kantara isn’t just for action parts. So when considering ROI, Kantara has more success than his KGF. It all depends on the content. So I think Shaakuntalam will be very successful because of its content.
Why did you cancel the special premiere project?
Our intention is to show the viewer a 3D version without any technical glitches. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of theaters to test 3D. The movie must be seen in a theater before being shown to an audience. After watching the movie on the Prasads multiplex, we identified some technical glitches. I have not canceled the Premier. We received a great report from the premiere about what the movie is about.
Why did you choose Dev Mohan to play King Dushant?
Telugu heroes do not accept such shady roles. If you take Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, they also play a guest role.Tollywood heroes need to improve in this aspect. I chose Dev Mohan because I need someone who is attractive. He allocated a large number of dates for the film.
How long is Mohan Bab Gul in the movie?
It’s not the screen time issue that makes the difference, it’s his character impact.I approached Mohan Babu Garu for a role in Rudramadevi, but it didn’t go well. If Mohan Babu Garu didn’t agree to join his Shaakuntalam, I wanted to quit the project.
Please tell us about the music in the film.
Mani Sharma has been waiting a long time to make a period film. He gives the usual movies epic music, which is evidenced in Chudarani Undi and Okkadu. Mani Sharma Garu did his best as Shaakuntalam is a period film. Music lovers say every song is great.
