INTERVIEW: Chad Stahelski on the Power of Keanu Reeves and Lance Reddick in ‘John Wick 4’

Few movies work like that john wick 4 Keep your audience on the edge of their seats and entertained. Bringing back Keanu Reeves as John Wick for the fourth time means pulling out all the stops to get fans excited and ready for what John has to face next. This movie really threw a lot on his plate. But whenever the movie wasn’t action-packed, there was a heart and a new way to balance the action and violence with a bit of humor.

And it’s all thanks to director Chad Stahelski’s vision.I was fortunate enough to speak with Stahelski at both premieres. john wick 4 Here in New York City and in an interview the next day. And finding a balance between action and humor, finding a way to bring his character to life, and really talk about the movie as a whole. But Keanu is the only one who ties them all together.

Keanu Reeves as John Wick is what fans want to see and that’s because we love Keanu as a performer. But now that there’s a lot on board for the fourth film, I asked Stahelski about the franchise and his favorite thing he’s done with Reeves throughout the film is I asked what it was.

“The unexpected is always the little things. When you write them, you see it in your head and you never know,” he said. He talked about how his love of art helps him in his work. “I’m a huge fan of silent movies. If you study Buster Keaton, or study Harold Lloyd or Charlie Chaplin, or study the big silent stars, they were so human, so many I understood.”

Lance Reddick as Karon

I spoke with Stahelski just after the premiere in New York the day before Lance Reddick died.So Stahelski’s answer about Reddick was while the actor was still alive, but he spoke of Charon’s death john wick 4 Something that was important to the story as a whole, not just what was done to make it happen.

“I’m always weird when I have to kill a character. See? I didn’t want to gag killing Lance Reddick’s character because I have to tell the actors. I want to kill someone for the sake of killing someone.” There was something mean about it, come to think of it, the whole friendship thread starts with Lance Reddick’s character dying, and that’s what inspired Winston to start this whole chain of events. But it also starts with Charon’s plaque, and that leads to Jon’s tombstone, to what is friendship?”
