New Music Appears in the Rock Blues Genre by requestis the latest album by Howard “Guitar” Luedtke & Blue Max from Chippewa Falls. With Luedtke on electric guitar and vocals, friend Bill Weiss on drums and backing vocals, and Luedtke’s wife Deb Klossner on electric bass and backing vocals, these three are no strangers to the industry.
Fans of Luedtke’s band are likely to recognize tracks on the album, many of them unreleased songs that the band has performed only at live shows over the past few decades. Now, his fan-favorite songs are put together on one CD.
“This is a collection of the most requested songs by family, friends and fans,” said Krosner. “Some songs have been requested so often by certain people that I think of them now. It seems like these people are part of the song!”
Their recording process is unlike anything the band has done before, but it remains a sound that goes back to the band’s roots. “Almost everything has changed in the music industry since the 1980s,” says Crosner. “But the core of Blue’s live music show with Max remains a solid three-piece rock-blues band.”
Luedtke is an important member of the band, but he owes a special man. “Over the last 50 years, I’ve been asked to do many interviews, but one person is often overlooked. ‘That’s my wife, Deb[Krosner]. I am so proud of her and so lucky to have her in my life.”
As the weather warms up, Howard Lütke and Blue Max will be playing live again at The Snout on April 22nd and two upcoming Chippewa Falls shows at SpringFest on May 20th. looking forward to it. You will have to go and see for yourself!
