How to Use Your Library in Spotify

This article explains how to use your library with Spotify, including how to use features on the Spotify desktop app, website, and mobile app.

How to use your library on Spotify

Your library is located in the left sidebar of the Spotify app and appears and functions the same across the macOS app, Windows app, and Spotify website. Click or tap the heart icon on a playlist, song, album, or follow an artist and they’ll appear in your library for easy access later. When creating a Spotify playlist, you can also access it from your library.

You can expand or collapse the ‘Library’ sidebar, toggle between list and grid views, and access a special search feature that searches just your library instead of all of Spotify. There are also buttons to list playlists, podcasts and shows, albums, artists only, and you can create folders to organize your favorite songs and playlists.

Here’s how to use your library on the Spotify app and website:

1. To make the library larger, move your mouse over the border between the left sidebar and the main browsing window, then click and drag. right.

   
   

2. Continue dragging to view library details. right. Beyond the halfway point, the sidebar snaps to its maximum configuration.

   
   

3. To switch to grid view, grid view icon (four boxes).

   
   

4. To exit the detailed view, back arrow [ライブラリ]It’s in the top right corner of the sidebar.

   Click the dividing line to left Resize the sidebar.

5. To place the library in a compact view, click the dividing line and drag it all the way to the dividing line. left.

   
   

6. To exit compact view, Extend your library An icon at the top of the compact Library sidebar.

   
   

7. [ライブラリ]To filter the songs and playlists available in the sidebar, playlist, podcasts and shows, albumagain artist.

   
   

8. To remove the filter, X An icon in the Library sidebar.

   Each filter category has subfilters such as By You and By Spotify for Playlists. Clicking on any of these further filters the library,[X]You can clear them by clicking .

9. To search the library, magnifying glass Sidebar icon.

   Clicking the magnifying glass in the upper-left corner of the app, below the home button, will search your entire Spotify, not just your library.

10. Type an album, artist, playlist, or whatever you’re looking for into the search field and the results will appear.

    
    

11. Click to refine your search playlist, podcasts and shows, albumagain artist.

    
    

12. click + [ライブラリ]Add a new playlist or folder in the sidebar.

    
    

13. click Create a playlist folder Create a new folder for your playlist, or Create new playlist Create a new playlist.

    
    

14. Right click playlist folder for more options.

    
    

15. click change name Rename the folder.

    “Delete” removes the folder and “Pin Folder” forces the folder to remain at the beginning of the library. ‘Create Playlist’ adds a new playlist to a folder, ‘Create Folder’ creates a subfolder, and ‘Play’ queues a playlist within a folder.

16. Enter a new name for the folder,[保存]Click.

    
    

17. Right-click a folder to move the playlist to the folder. playlist > Move to folderand select folder.

    
    

How to use your library on the Spotify mobile app

The mobile Spotify app also has much of the same Your Library functionality, but it’s on its own screen instead of the sidebar. to tap + Adding it to a playlist, album, or song adds it to your library, where you can find it later in your mobile app, desktop app, or web player.

Here’s how to use your library on the Spotify mobile app:

1. Tap your library.

   
   

2. Tap playlist, podcasts and shows, albumagain artist Filter the library.

   
   

3. Tap. X Remove the filter.

   
   

4. Tap. grid view Use the (four boxes) icon to switch from list view to grid view.

   
   

5. Tap. list view Click the (three lines) icon to return to list view.

   
   

6. Tap recently Click to adjust sorting options.

   
   

7. Tap recently added, Alphabetical orderagain creator To switch to a different sort order.

   
   

8. Tap. magnifying glass Click at the top to start searching.

   
   

9. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter search terms such as band names, genres, playlists, and more.

   
   

10. Match results from the library are displayed.

    Tap the magnifying glass and other navigation icons at the bottom of the app to search your entire Spotify rather than your library.

11. Tap. + Click the icon to add a new playlist.

    
    

12. Tap playlist create a new playlist or blend If you want to make a playlist with your friends.

    
    

What is Spotify Library?

Library is a feature of Spotify that tracks and organizes your favorite artists, albums, songs, podcasts and other content. Click the heart icon on a song or album or follow an artist to see it in your library. Playlists you’ve created and playlists shared with you also appear in your library. If it’s all too much to keep track of, you can create folders in your library to keep things organized.

When the library was first introduced, it could be viewed in a sidebar format or expanded to fill the app’s main browsing area. It no longer works that way, but it’s much more flexible than when it was first introduced.[ライブラリ]The sidebar can be collapsed into a compact icon view or expanded into a detailed view. There’s also a grid view that shows album art if you want to browse your library of your favorite songs.
