Grand jury plans to resume work after two unexpected days off
As Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is investigating $130,000 paid in the final weeks of former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, New York state court officials accused Stormy Daniels of Investigate $130,000 paid. A grand jury that was listening to testimony in Trump’s criminal investigation is scheduled to return to court in lower Manhattan today after being absent from the case for most of the past week.
The last time the panel heard testimony related to Trump was on March 19, when Michael Cohen’s former legal counsel, Robert Costello, appeared before a grand jury and was Trump’s former attorney and amendor. Trust him who is.
The grand jury was then unexpectedly given a day off on Wednesday. It came back on Thursday, but it didn’t pan out in Trump’s case.
Prosecutors can use grand juries to consider evidence for multiple criminal investigations.
It wasn’t clear whether the Trump grand jury would begin the week with work on his case or another.
