Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Music Office (TMO), the City of Sweetwater and the Sweetwater-Nolan County Chamber of Commerce will co-host a Music Friendly Texas Community Workshop on Tuesday, June 13th.
“Music is key to Texas brands and the local economy,” Abbott said. “Thank you to The Texas Music Authority for helping communities big and small build creative partnerships and grow new jobs. By working with local leaders like the City of Sweetwater and Nolan County, It will ensure that our Texas community has the tools they need to succeed.”
TMO Community Relations and Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will be in attendance to discuss and answer questions about Music Friendly Texas Community Certification and the benefits of being certified.
Participation in TMO’s Music Friendly Texas Program, the first in the nation since TMO’s introduction in 2016, will provide Texas communities with a network that fosters the development of the music industry, and accredited communities will become more active in the music industry. It will send a clear message to industry experts that they are serious about attracting and developing. growth. A Sweetwater workshop is the first step in the certification process. Upon completion, Sweetwater will join 42 other Texas communities that have earned the “Music Friendly Texas” designation.
