On the second day of KXLG’s Law Enforcement Focused GO Blue program on human trafficking, we meet two local groups in Watertown who are helping to fight human trafficking and raise awareness about it. , Fallout Shelter Ministries and Freedom Flannels.
With Rich Orm, Fallout Shelter Ministries…
Ohm continued that South Dakota has very good laws to combat human trafficking. He sometimes talks about what he saw there…
There are many variables in the human trafficking scenario….
According to Ohm, the group operates all over the world, and locally it’s not their only mission. They also have self-defense classes and ministry assignments….
Briana Beebe and Freedom Flannel…
Anna Raschmeier and Freedom Flannels talk about their success.
They started taking donations of flannels that they could drop at Raise the Bar and Backroads Coffee, and began bleaching and reselling them as a fundraiser. Realizing that more needs were spreading in our area, they decided to use the funds to help fight human trafficking.
