Rock legends Foo Fighters are making their long-awaited return to Australia for the first time since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. Led by frontman Dave Grohl, the Grammy Award-winning band will tour the United States starting in Perth in November and December before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The Foo Fighters played a special show in Geelong last year, but this will be their first major Australian tour since 2018. Unfortunately, this was also Taylor Hawkins’ last performance, when he tragically died of heart disease while on tour in Columbia.
After canceling remaining shows and a tribute concert, the band announced they would continue without Hawkins. They recently confirmed that Josh Freeze will replace him on drums. The Foo Fighters have won five Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. just released Their eleventh album, But Here We Are, they describe as a raw and honest response to the challenges they’ve faced.

Dave Grohl, formerly the drummer for the influential band Nirvana, played drums on the new album during Hawkins’ absence. Fans can expect an emotional and powerful performance from Foo Fighters when they return to the Australian stage.
With other big tours announced this year, it looks like it’s going to be an exciting year for music fans. Rock veterans Mötley Crue and Def Leppard are set to tour together in November, while rapper and actor 50 Cent to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. I am planning to visit Australia in December. Grammy-winning War On Drugs will also tour the East Coast in December. There is also high hopes for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift to announce a tour soon.
