After receiving great feedback on my first solo album, doom warning vocalist Ray Alder, “What Water Needs”back in 2019, inside out song has announced the upcoming worldwide release of its follow-up effort. “Ⅱ”9 June.
again, just like “What Water Needs”the new LP was written with a guitarist Mike Abdo (doom warning Touring member) and Tony Hernando (lord of black) — both played bass guitar on their own songs — drums Craig Anderson (ignition, crescent moon shield) and mixed Simone Muraloni (Rhapsody, Michael Romeo, DGM). Alder‘s second album title is simply “Ⅱ”but musically, this is a far more revealing and exploratory work than its predecessor.
Alder Comment: “When I wrote my first solo album, I wanted to try out a few different musical styles. I didn’t want it to be heavy, but I wanted a more musical, catchy chorus. I think we did a pretty good job on the first album.. But for this new album, I wanted the music and lyrics to be darker and heavier.
“In my opinion microphone did a great job with the music. He listened to me and thought musically.
“Tony You know I like big choruses and somewhat traditional sounds. and of course Craig You did a great job on the drums as usual. I am honored to be able to work with them.
“This album is a reflection of what I’ve been hearing as a solo artist going forward: longer songs, deeper lyrics, and pushing myself aloud.
“I hope people listening to this song enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it…”

Alder About the state “This hollow shell”: ““This Hollow Shell” This is the first song released from my new solo album. “Ⅱ”When I first heard this song, I knew it would become one of my favorites from the new album. There was a lot of change, it was dark and moody. It was like a giant blank canvas that I couldn’t wait to start painting. It ended up being one of her most proud songs on the album. ”
