All My Friends Records has relaunched as a fully independent label. music week can reveal.
In the latest issue of music weekco-founders Mike Adjay and Connie Mead, and recently appointed general manager Jed Kellett, in an exclusive conversation.
AMF was founded in 2014 by Mike Ajayi and Connie Meade, who met while previously working at Infectious Music. With a family-collective vibe, the label’s ethos is summed up in the words ‘Life is better with All My Friends’.
London-based All My Friends have relaunched as a fully independent organization with the addition of Aby Coulibaly and Christian Alexander. AMF returns with investment from Red Light Management and distribution via Virgin Music.
AMF Records alumni include Loyle Carner, Greentea Peng, Olivia Dean, Connie Constance and Marika Hackman.
Aby Coulibaly recently released a new single Rewind via AMF. The Irish artist’s new single Patience will be released on his May 19th, followed by his debut EP At The End Of The Day, It’s Night on his June release.
Christian Alexander’s new single “Heaven Knows” produced by Mura Masa will be released on April 21st.
The founding duo will be joined by general manager Jed Kellett, who has arrived from the YMU group with a roster of producers and writers. This marks a new direction for AMF’s management team.
The line-up of producers and writers Kellett brought to AMF included Cameron GP (Dua Lipa, Lina Sawayama, Anne-Marie, Joel Corrie, Mahalia), Tom Stafford (Joy Crooks, Orla Gartland, Gretel Hanlin, Gracie), Includes Neil Konber. AMF’s creative director, Connie Meade, will continue to oversee the label’s creative and marketing, running her creative services company, Lunar Sea, and working with Claire Stubbs at director agency Mouthpiece.
Meade spent 10 years at AMF Records, EMI Records, and Infectious Music leading marketing and creative strategy for artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Alt-J, Loyle Carner, Tom Misch, Olivia Dean, Jake Bugg, Blossoms, and Soft Play. I have more experience. She was an integral part of the team that helped establish Lewis Capaldi as a global star.
Meade’s creative and video commissioning company, Lunar Sea, has worked on projects for artists such as Sigrid, Kokoroko, Joesef and Self Esteem. She is also part of the award-winning She Mouthpiece Music Video Directors Agency, home to production companies such as Academy, Partizan, Spindle and Ground Work.
Jed Kellett initially managed recording studios across London, including Metropolis, Miloco and Sarm Studios, and from there began building a producer and writer management roster. He joined his YMU his group in 2019 and continued to build his own talent roster while also being involved in the careers of producers such as Mark Ralph and Owen Katz.
