Cult indie icon Deeper announces new album Be careful! , It was released on September 8th, and lead single “Build a Bridge” is currently streaming. Along with the news, the band have revealed tour dates for 2023.
Be careful! The album is Deeper’s third album and debut as Sub Pop. “We wanted these songs to be interesting, but we also wanted them to be something a two-year-old would be engrossed in,” said Nick Gall of the band in a statement, which inspired the song’s title to “Corkout Bowie.” “It’s basically pop music…we’ve always said that as a band, we don’t want to stay in one genre.”
“Build a Bridge” consists of a pop melody, but Deeper’s classic spiky, jerky guitar undercuts it, making the track both catchy and a little unsettling. The lyrics are all about finding yourself, perhaps lost. “A troubled life/Looked in the mirror/Is this what you really need?”
Deeper’s headliner tour kicks off in Indianapolis on September 21st and continues across North America before heading to the UK/EU in November. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am ET on Ticketmaster. You can also check out StubHub when it launches. Your order is 100% guaranteed through his FanProtect program on StubHub.
