Clara Tracy has added two more live show dates. Black Forest Vinyl release ceremonies took place on 8 June at Workman’s Cellar in Dublin, one at Jumbo Records in Leeds and another at Rough Trade West in London.
Since Belfast-born up-and-coming artist Clara Tracy released her debut album Black Forest Since putting her in the spotlight last October, she’s been on fire. Her first tour of Ireland, which catapulted her to the limelight, sold out several concerts.
Now she’s planning to celebrate the vinyl release of the record on June 9th at Workman’s Cellar in Dublin. First announced in April, she has added two more live show dates on June 10th and June 14th at Leeds’ Jumbo Records and London’s Rough Trade West.
Workman’s show, which starts at 7:30 PM, features Tracy’s full band. On her Instagram, she teased that the event “has a decadent arrangement and maybe a few girls wearing nothing but ivy…”.
The album included Tracy’s debut single “Soap Girls”, a song “inspired by a summer afternoon in Paris” with Tracy’s friend Noemie.
“She decided to take pictures and found an old photo about seven years later when she was living in Dublin and realized we were soap girls,” recalls Tracy.
“To celebrate the 10th anniversary of our friendship, we decided to organize a reunion in Paris, filmed an impromptu video in an AirBnb bath, and immortalized our soap girl status. .”
The rest of the 11-track album is equally compelling. Rebelling against her 1990s Northern Irish upbringing, her music embodies sexual liberation and sublime self-renewal. Multi-layered, she also references artists from different mediums and styles, including Harry Clarke, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Jane Birkin.
Amazing music collection, don’t miss the vinyl release.
