Singer legend Celine Dion has delighted her fans by announcing that she will release new music four years after she revealed she has rigorous syndrome.
Celine Dion has announced that she will be releasing new music for the first time in four years, just months after being diagnosed with a rare and incurable neurological condition.
The music icon will release her new song Love Again for the movie of the same name, also making her acting debut.
Celine co-stars Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra in a rom-com based on Sophie Kramer’s novels.
The All By Myself hitmaker, 55, broke the news on Instagram.
Celine shared a clip of the movie with the song overlaid, writing, “NEW TRACK ALERT!
“The title track of the movie ‘Love Again’ is available now. Please mark your calendar. The movie will be released in theaters on his May 5th and the full his album featuring 5 new Celine songs will be available on May 12th!”
Her fans were delighted with the announcement, with one commenting, “Your voice will always be my peace point.”
“Oh my God, I missed your sweet angelic voice! *Listening on repeat*,” wrote another.
Another fan added a fire emoji and gushed, “That’s beautiful, you sound amazing.”
“It was a lot of fun to be in this movie,” said Celine.
“And having the privilege of being cast in my first feature film alongside beautiful and talented actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan is a gift I will cherish forever.”
In the press release she added:
Last December, she announced that she was battling stiff person syndrome (SPS).
Affecting 1 in 1 million people, the disease has no cure and eventually results in the inability to walk or speak.
A tearful Celine posted on Instagram, “You know, I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but now I’m ready.
“I’ve been dealing with my health issues for a long time, but it’s been really hard for me to face my challenges and talk about everything I’ve been through.
“We’re still learning about this rare condition, but I know this is the cause of all the cramps I’ve had,” she added.
“Unfortunately, these spasms affect all aspects of daily life, sometimes making it difficult to walk or not being able to use your vocal cords to sing as you used to.”
She has “an amazing team of doctors working with her” and is supported by her “precious children”.
