NBC’s original “Quantum Leap” ran from 1989 to 1993, and left former scientist Sam Beckett trapped in time after a failed experiment. A sequel series decades later uses the same title on the network.
For this Quantum Leap, a new team has been assembled to restart the project in hopes of understanding the mystery behind the machine and who created it.
But one night, when Ben Song decides to make the leap without telling anyone, it’s time for him to reach his destination, solve the mystery behind what he did, and regain his memory. It’s up to his team to help him.
Last weekend, WonderCon, the annual pop culture convention, took place in Anaheim, California. LRM Online‘s Manny Gomez was able to speak with the cast and executive producer of “Quantum Leap.” This included stars Raymond Lee, Kaitlyn Bassett, Mason Alexander Park and Ernie Hudson. Executive producers Dean George Alice and Deborah Pratt. Pratt also appeared in the original series.
During our conversations, we chatted about each character, but one of the central themes was the happiness of having a diverse cast. You can check out all three interviews below!

Synopsis for NBC’s “Quantum Leap”
It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and disappeared. A new team is now assembled to restart the project in hopes of understanding the mystery behind the machine and the man who created it.
The cast includes Raymond Lee, Caitlin Bassett, Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanlisa Lee. Martin Gero serves as executive producer alongside Dean Georgaris, Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt, Chris Grismer, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.
Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, will produce in conjunction with I Have an Idea! Entertainment, Belisarius Productions, Queen’s House Productions.
