Superstar Suga of boy group BTS set the biggest first day sales for a K-pop soloist with his official debut solo album “D-Day,” according to a music industry source on Saturday.
Citing data from Hanteo Chart, a local album sales tracker, sources said the album sold more than 1.07 million copies in its first day after it was released on Friday under Suga’s alternate stage name, Agust D. It says.
The record was set last month by bandmate Jimin with “Face,” which sold nearly 1,021,000 copies on its first day.
Including his unofficial mixtape, “D-Day” will be Suga’s first solo project in three years since “D-2” in 2020. This album is also the final work of the “Agust D” trilogy that started with his mixtape “Agust D”. ” (2016) and “D-2”.
The new album includes pre-released songs ‘People Pt. 2 (Feat. IU)’, ‘D-DAY’, ‘E?! , “Snooze (Feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woo Sung of The Rose)”.
According to BigHit Music, the 10 songs also included “Life Goes On,” which was Suga’s reinterpretation of the eponymous band’s hits with his own sensibilities.
