Boygenius goes on a trip. On Tuesday (March 28), the supergroup consisting of Lucy Dacus, Julian Baker and Phoebe Bridgers announced a headlining tour of North America.
The US tour kicks off April 12th at the Pomona Theater in Los Angeles. The concert will bring the band to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which is scheduled to play Saturday (April 15 and April 22) before headliner BLACKPINK transforms the Indio, California-based festival into BLINKCHELLA. serves as a harbinger of the stopover. night.
Following Weekend 2 at the Empire Polo Club, the trio’s tour resumes in June, with intermittent stops throughout the summer in Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Toronto. Ultimately, the 14-day trip concludes with a show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on August 5th.
Carly Rae Jepsen, Broken Social Scene, Bertie’s Strange, Claude and Illuminati Hotties have all confirmed opening acts on certain dates of the tour. Meanwhile, Boygenius will also headline his first traveling Re:Set Concert Series in June on his tour in tandem with LCD Soundsystem and Steve Lacy.
Each summer show supports the band’s long-awaited debut album. The Recordwill be released on Friday via Interscope Records, and tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public on the same day. Heading into the full-length drop, the indie rocker has already released the tracks “$20,” “Emily I’m Sorry,” “True Blue,” and most recently, “Not Strong Enough.”
