MEMPHIS, Tennessee (AP) — Blues mainstays Buddy Guy, Albert Castiglia and John Nemeth each won two awards at the Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee, with Tommy Castro won the BB King Entertainer of the Year award.
The Memphis-based Blues Foundation announced in a news release that guitarist and singer Guy won Album of the Year and Contemporary Blues Album for “The Blues Don’t Lie.” Castilia, who is also a singer and guitarist, won the Blues Rock Artist Award and Best Blues Rock Her Album category for “I Got Love”.
Singer and harmonica player Nemeth won the traditional blues album category with May Be The Last Time. He also won the harmonica instrumental performance category.
For the second year in a row, guitarist and singer Castro won the award named after the late blues legend BB King.
