WASP icon Blackie Lawless will sit down and finish the ongoing European tour of the classic Los Angeles glam metal band, the 66-year-old bandleader explained this week.
It’s a compromise the WASP founding singer and guitarist is happy to make after being advised not to continue with the WASP 40th anniversary show.
Lawless revealed last month that she was performing with a herniated disc in her lower back, which she claimed was caused by a leg injury years ago. Now, the WASP rocker said he would finish the tour “even if hell comes, if tidal waves come” despite the injury.
See WASP tour dates below. The band’s 40th anniversary tour, which is currently underway and has concluded its final show, will resume in August with shows in the United States.

“About two weeks into the tour, I have experienced a serious setback at the hands of very unqualified doctors here in Europe,” Lawless explained in a May 10 update to his website. “I am being treated in a hospital in Berlin, and the team of doctors there is nothing short of amazing. They gave me.”
Lawless continued, “But it’s hard for them to understand. This is the only 40th anniversary I’ll be celebrating. Needless to say, our fans have been waiting for us for over three years. , due to the pandemic.” “I have had three tour postponements. told me it would definitely get worse if I didn’t rest and rehab.” The show was shortened by two songs, and I’m sorry about that, but the pain reached a level where I couldn’t play anymore…my legs were helping me and became dangerous.”
He added, “I can’t stand up for the remaining five shows, so my compromise with the doctors was that if they would let me sit in my chair for the remaining five shows, they would give me permission to finish the show. he added. “I’m done with the tour and I’m going to do 5 more shows. I’ve never done it before, but please understand, my intention is to finish this tour, even if hell comes, even if tidal waves come. That’s it.”

Lawless concluded: “As frustrating as it has been so far, I can’t wait to go into rehab and then destroy America. Once again, for the second and final round of the ’40th Anniversary World Tour’!! I’ll be back.”
