Dance label Cr2 Records has signed platinum-selling artist and producer Matt Sassari to an exclusive long-term artist deal.
This global deal follows a close collaboration between Cr2 and Believe’s UK office, which has signed a global distribution deal in 2021. Believe won the Label/Artist Service category at last week’s Music Week Awards.
Cr2’s longstanding relationship with Marseille-based Sassari began in 2017 with the release of his remix of Popof’s Alcoolic.
Over the past two years, Cr2’s collaboration with Sassari and his own label Sass has been supported by Believe’s dance and electronic experts, b:electronic. Cr2 leveraged Believe’s global marketing services for the single’s campaign, paving the way for a blockbuster for Sassari’s 2021 release Give It To Me.
Give It To Me, the first track to be released under the b:electronic partnership, became one of Cr2’s biggest global hits. Through an 18-month marketing campaign across 20 different regions, we received strategic support from Believe’s internal audience development team and his DSP editorial and marketing partnerships team.
Since then, “Give It To Me” has sold over 1.5 million combined singles in digital formats, has over 250 million streams worldwide, and has been certified platinum worldwide. He currently has gold medals in Australia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Holland and Switzerland and is on his way to silver in Great Britain. Sassari’s monthly Spotify listener count has grown to more than nine million.
“Cr2’s success in Sassari, underpinned by Believe’s long-standing and close relationship with DSPs, continues to see dance music move from traditional regional licensing to globally coordinated, data-driven campaigns. It proves that,” the statement said.
After dance music has grown so much, the timing could not have been better for this partnership and the launch of Matt Sassari.

Ben Rimmer, Regional Director, Label & Artist Solutions, Believe UK & Nordic Europe, said: “After the massive growth of dance music over the last two years, the timing could not have been better for this partnership and the launch of Matt Sassari. It shows the power, global independence and true international appeal of dance music.”
“We are delighted to sign Matt to a long-term artist deal and continue to nurture him as one of the next generation of global dance superstars,” said Mark Brown, founder of Cr2 Records. He heard something special about Matt not only producing great club tunes, but also having the ability to handle vocals. Matt has a unique sound that lends itself well not only to the underground, but also to big crossover his records like Give It To Me. ”
Matt Sassari’s manager Stephen Macias added: Together, we are thrilled to break out Matt as a globally respected artist and to continue this long-term relationship with great success and even more platinum discs.”
In February, Sassari released his collaboration with Good Boys, Sleepwalking, which had the most successful first week on any Cr2 record.
Other releases released under Believe and Cr2’s partnership to date include Hugel’s hits “Morenita” and “Mariela (Que Pasa)”, with 150 million and 30 million views respectively. It has accumulated more than 100,000 global streams.
Upcoming releases distributed under Cr2’s Believe label service deal include records by Matt Sassari, Hugel, Quarterhead and Miggy Dela Rosa.
