Over the past few months, Chad Watson has been on a roll in the music scene. Last September, he dropped the hit single “I’m a Problem,” complete with a music video. Now, he’s got everyone buzzing about his upcoming single, “Baldwin Hills Baby.”
We had the chance to listen to an early preview of the new track, and let’s just say it doesn’t disappoint. The song takes an interesting approach, skipping a traditional hook and second verse for a more interlude-like style. When we asked Chad about this, he told us the song was initially going to feature a guest artist on the second verse, but he decided to keep it simple and stick with just the first verse.
Chad’s staying busy, too. Along with the new song, he’s putting out a music video that showcases his unique talent for playing with tempo to fit the track’s different moods.
So, is all this leading up to an album? Chad was tight-lipped about the details, but did say, “I’ve got some special stuff in the works. I’m focused on making sure the quality matches where I’m at in my career.”
Keep an eye out for “Baldwin Hills Baby,” set to release this October, and whatever else Chad has up his sleeve.
