Balmain and Beyoncé launch couture collection inspired by ‘Renaissance’
written by Jackie Palumbo, CNN
Beyhive may still be waiting for its “Renaissance” visuals, but a surprise couture collection directly inspired by the album’s songs, courtesy of Balmain, may drown that itch (for now).
Called Renaissance Couture, the collection includes sumptuous velvets, meticulously embroidered gowns, and wearable crystal chandeliers, along with hammered metal bibs, 3D-printed bustiers, and feathers. There are plenty of dramatic sculptural moments, such as fireworks being lit. It’s detail, detail, detail, right down to Beyoncé’s signature that forms the base of the platform heel.

Rustane He said in a statement that he came up with the project when he fell in love with Renaissance, which was released last summer.

“From the beginning, we knew this collaboration would be different than anything else that either of us had worked on before. It’s a collection that’s completely based on,” Rousteing said. “The lack of budgeting, rollouts and marketing plans has removed the typical boundaries and constraints to create a dream environment where we can simply experiment, dream and push each other to the max. That’s exactly what we did.”
