Viewers who watched this year’s BAFTA Television Awards had the same complaints about the backstage interviews that followed.
BAFTA TV Awards viewers complained about not being able to hear some of the backstage interviews for the event.
Fans tuned in to the BBC to watch their favorite shows and stars were rewarded for their great work.
After winning the award, the winners will head backstage to participate in a post-award interview with fan-favorite YouTuber Amelia Di Moldenberg.
Amelia tries to keep the mic close to the winner, but sometimes she forgets to bring the mic close to her mouth when speaking.
As a result, viewers at home couldn’t hear what she and some of the stars were saying.
Some viewers simply complained that the interview was “awkward to watch”.
“Can someone fix the backstage mic? I can’t hear Queen Amelia,” wrote one user on Twitter.
“Someone please tell that lady interviewing the winners that the mic works better when you speak into it,” wrote one.
“Though the post-award interviews are terrible,” added one unimpressed fan, while another added, “Please sort out Mike’s work backstage.”
“Can someone please tell her I can’t hear her…” another posted.
Best known for her Chicken Shop dating series on YouTube, Amelia is the backstage host for this year’s awards ceremony.
Award winners include Siobhan McSweeney, The Traitors, The Masked Singer and Lenny Rush.
Meanwhile, the event suffered another “awkward” moment when viewers noticed their reaction to the opening act.
Singer Callum Scott and DJ/songwriter Jax Jones both took the stage to perform the upbeat song “Whistle.”
But once Jax introduced the star to the stage and the music started, viewers couldn’t help but notice that the crowd was a little less impressed.
There was “little movement” from the crowd while Callum and Jax Jones performed, and viewers quickly noticed that many celebrity faces were “bored”.
Fans called it “awkward” and posted about the moment on Twitter, with one writing, “I saw people moving more at the funeral. This is so awkward.”
Another viewer said, “The audience is bored and stiff as the BAFTA ceremony begins. Not a good start.”
