“When it comes time to put it together, the devil i know, my band and I did what we always do: We got together in a purple building in East Nashville, played a bunch of songs, and discussed where we wanted to go,” McBride explained. “We decided to embrace all the things people tended to give us a hard time and make it better.”

New song “Learned To Lie” released

McBride’s exciting announcement was made even more glamorous by the release of her latest song, “Learned To Lie,” which offers a special vulnerability through her raw writing.

“I learned to cry / I learned to pray quietly / Quietly in the house where the devil played / And I hate the devil running in my blood / How easy it gets I’ve learned how to hate/want to love the devil Just like I learned to lie,” sings McBride.

“‘I Learned To Lie’ was a difficult one. I wrote it with Sean McConnell and Nicolette Hayford,” the “One Night Standard” singer said of the new song. “After writing this book, I called her mother and told her I told her some more stories about her family. I was like, ‘It’s hard to hear, but none of it is true.’ said.”

Sequel to “Lights on in the Kitchen”

“Learned To Lie” follows McBride’s “Light On In The Kitchen,” which was released on February 26 and is currently climbing the charts. Written by Grand Ole Opry members Connie Harrington and Jesse Alexander, this lyrical ballad shares Starr’s truth in a softer way, paired with her narrative vocals and warm welcome. combined with rhythms.

“When you tell someone there’s ‘Lights On In The Kitchen,’ to me it means you’re thinking of them, even if they didn’t come home that night. means,” McBride previously said of the song. “While writing this [song], we could all look back and remember the women in our lives who comforted us, gave us advice, and made sure we had a place to go.
