After working with lead vocalist Alexander Strandell on Crowne’s excellent 2022 debut album, Kings In The North, Frontiers Music Srl approached Alexander about collaborating on the new Art Nation album, and thankfully, Strandell has I was enthusiastic about the idea.
It is significant and definitive that guitarist Christoffer Borg, who formed the band with Strandell in 2014, is back in Art Nation. Strandell and Borg, along with bassist Richard Svärd and drummer Alexander Lundgren, have re-established the great musical ethos and chemistry that launched the band, and Art Nation is back and better than ever!
“When Art Nation released their debut album ‘Revolution’ in 2015, everything went so fast. Suddenly we were on tour, playing the biggest stage in Sweden and walking the red carpet of the Grammy Awards. At the same time, we were overcoming the difficulties of playing in a band that had never experienced everything that was expected of us. After releasing “Revelation” in 2017, I was so frustrated with my illness that I could hardly stand on stage without chest pain.
“During this period, I did many things to my bandmates, and today I deeply regret it. Even if you tell yourself that you are fine because you are healthy, you should not treat them poorly. “For the rest of my life I’m going to do better. I lost a friend in 2017 and the band has never been the same since then. We tried really hard to continue our journey.” But I couldn’t feel it without Art Nation, Christoffer, who started the band with me in 2014. The musical spirit disappeared with a strong friendship,” Strandell explains.
“After the release of Transition in 2019, the dawn of the pandemic in early 2020 forced me to cancel all my future plans and everything turned upside down.” The damage inflicted.
