The suspect has been charged with murdering four victims, police said.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the deaths of four people who were found dead in a home on Tuesday, according to Maine state police.
Police announced Tuesday night that Joseph Eaton has been charged with murdering four victims.
“Investigators will continue to process multiple scenes and interview those involved in this incident throughout the night,” the police said in a statement.
Eaton has been sent to Wiscasset’s Two Bridges Regional Jail and is expected to appear in court later this week, police said.
Four people were first found dead in Bowdoin’s home shortly after, police said, driving south on Interstate 295 in Yarmouth at about 10:30 a.m. three people were shot. Officials said the incidents were related.
Maine police have previously said there was no threat to the public.
Interstate victims are hospitalized. One person is in critical condition, police said.
The cause and cause of death of the four people found dead in Bowdoin have not yet been determined, police said.
Police say an investigation is ongoing.
Yarmouth is about 25 miles south of Bowdoin.
