Apple launches new concert discovery feature in Apple Maps and Apple Music
Apple Music provides the ultimate listening experience for music fans around the world. One of its hallmarks is a global team of expert curators and lifelong music lovers focused on putting out songs and albums that users have to hear. Today, Apple Music extends its curation efforts to live shows, introducing new concert discovery features to Apple Maps and Apple Music. Together, these new features celebrate the joy of live music and offer more ways for fans and artists to connect.
On Maps, over 40 new guides, expertly curated by Apple Music editors, highlight the best venues to experience live music in some of the world’s greatest cultural capitals. From historic Viennese Symphony Halls to cutting-edge techno clubs in Brooklyn and Tokyo, these curated selections, now spread across more than 10 cities, are just what music fans need for an unforgettable night. Apple Music Guide also allows fans to browse the venue’s upcoming shows directly from the map through his Shazam’s concert discovery module. It’s part of a series of features Shazam introduced last spring, leveraging concert information from the world-renowned event recommendation and artist discovery platform Bandsintown.
On Apple Music, a brand-new setlist space shines a light on a selection of major tours, allowing fans to listen to setlists and read about them. For the first time on the app, fans will be able to browse the artist’s upcoming shows in their region by launching Shazam’s concert discovery module.
