Despite his failing health, country music star Alan Jackson, 64, hasn’t lost his love of singing.
He has been suffering from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease for the last ten years, a sudden worsening neurological disorder.
Alan Jackson started working on a new record to make the most of his time before becoming a wheelchair user.
A friend of Jackson’s told The Globe magazine, “Alan’s health has deteriorated considerably, and he can hardly walk without tripping.
After being informed that his future will be limited to a wheelchair and that he may lose the use of his limbs, the rural superstar finishes on a high note and is determined to try as hard as he can.
“Alan believes his health has affected the way he views songwriting. But he’s willing to give it his all, and he’s happy with what he’s accomplished with this project,” said an anonymous friend.
Alan Jackson was diagnosed in May 2021 with idiopathic neuropathy, a degenerative neuropathy that affects the nerves that control sensation and movement in the limbs.
Symptoms of this disease include numbness, tingling, weakness, and pain in the limbs.
In interviews, he has also been candid about his condition and thanked his followers for their support during this difficult time.

In an interview with Today, Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Alan Jackson opened up about a genetic condition he inherited from his father.
He clarified that there is no known cure for it, but it does affect his ability to perform.
“And I know I stumble on stage, and now even in front of the mic I’m struggling a bit with my balance and I feel so uncomfortable.”
