“So when I broke up with my ex-boyfriend last March, we weren’t in touch. I became,” she says. “He made this playlist for me and shared it with me so we could both add songs. It became our only means of communication.”

Conor started by adding her favorite song, “My Girl” by The Temptations.

“And he said ‘I’d Like That’ by Tyne, so I added this song by Quinn. [XCII]”where you should be,” and he said “around you.”

In another, Connor adds Singh’s “I’ll Still Have Me,” while her ex responds to Lil Wayne’s “What About Me,” featuring Post Malone.

As their playlist has grown, Conor and her ex have played ‘I Think I Love You Again’ by Aaron Taylor, ‘Love You From a Distance’ by Ashley Kutcher, and ‘Take What I Can’ by Ruth Ann. We continue to communicate through song titles such as Get.

“More than that, I hate it,” Connor says. “And he said, ‘Kill me,’ and ‘Can you stay with me?’ and ‘Let’s be together.’

“This is a modern telenovela. I’m here for it.”

A commenter lives for Conor’s video, urging her to rekindle her relationship with her ex.

“This is literally the definition of what he wants or not,” someone wrote.

“I will bring him back soon as this is my goal,” said one user.

“This is a modern day telenovela. I’m here for it. Thanks for sharing,” said another.

It remains unclear why Connor blocked her ex-boyfriend, but communicating via playlists seems to be an effective and creative way to articulate your feelings (or lack thereof).
